Wow! I guess I’m not gonna be able to respond to everyone’s comments individually anymore! There’s just too much good stuff…
Thanks to everyone for their support, even (or especially) the bizarre bits (and vague, well-meaning, threats…). It’s all really great to hear.
Some quick responses:
1) Every place is interesting, even wherever you’re from, Mandy!
2) Unfortunately, I can’t keep up with a more than the two-a-week production schedule until at least October because of “liff.” As it stands, I’m trying to stay ahead of schedule because I know I won’t be able to work on Shit City for nearly two months this summer, so I want to have a backlog and not put readers through a hiatus.
I’ve been thinking, in an effort to keep the comments board a little trimmer, I’d open up a special email address just for our wildest Shit City readers to write into. Whoever writes the best, or most bizarre, or dare-I-say-it creepiest stuff in to that email just may have their letters answered by one of our three heroes in a special between-chapters comic a few weeks from now. Gimme what you got. It’s MaddieBeanoArn@gmail.com.
(If you’re just writing me to say something nice and don’t want it finding its way into that comic, you can still comment or use my regular email as seen lower on the page.)
In conclusion, plesase keep on reading, and keep on telling your friends, so I can keep on making comics for you… and I won’t have to find out what Joe means by “or alse…”
Don’t forget! MaddieBeanoArn@gmail.com
Looks like trouble for our man Arn!
Just a reminder: if you want your emails answered personally by Maddie, Beano or Arn in a special comic coming up on May 3, don’t forget to write in to MaddieBeanoArn@gmail.com. So far there’s some good stuff, so keep it coming!
As for the story of last week’s Chainsaw-and-Little-Moustache-Man, I’m willing to hear any theories you folks may have.
Things aren’t looking too good for ol’ Arnie right now. Just two more strips left in this exciting second chapter, “The Cheap and the Dead”!
Just a reminder, direct your reader mail to MaddieBeanoArn@gmail.com and one of our three heroes will answer your questions or comments in a very special April 26th comic!
In non-Shit City news, most of you don’t know that I am a former Brooklyn high school art teacher. The school I taught at hosted a summer program, the Willie Mae Rock Camp for Girls, that was a big deal for a few of my favorite students. Now, the Willie Mae Rock Camp is in competition to receive 50K much needed bucks from the nice folks at Pepsi. In order for them to be awarded the money, they need to get into the Top 10 in voting on this site: http://www.refresheverything.com/girlsrock.
If you’ve got a little extra time (it doesn’t cost anything), stop over at that link and give them your vote!
Don’t forget, if you have something to say to Maddie, Beano or Arn, just email them at MaddieBeanoArn@gmail.com.
By the by, have any of you seen the commercial for birth control where they show 30 seconds of two little kids being totally shitty brats? It’s GENIUS. I gotta go out and get me an IUD!
Thanks everybody who enjoyed “The Cheap and the Dead” – stay tuned next Thursday for the beginning of our third chapter, “Supervised Adventure”!
And this Monday… our first Reader Mail comic! Oh boy oh boy.
