Well I’m really sorry it’s late but I’m really glad it’s done!
Fun fact: that last comic Arn referred to (the immortally popular Questionable Content) takes place in Northampton, Massachusetts, the very same place I was born and lived during the first year of Shit City’s existence on internet. Every day when I lived in Northampton, my roommate Keith McGMc and I had a keen eye to spot Mr. Jacques drinking coffee or playing with robots, but it never happened, despite the fact that we hung out in the Dirty Truth and bought our bread at Hungry Ghost, just like Marten.
Next week’s comic might be a bit behind schedule, too, as a result of this week’s. So be prepared for that, friends. I think ya’ll can handle it.
Anyway, I have some links to share. CNN, my least favorite news source, is inexplicably turning into one of my favorite opinion sources. See Ron Clark’s “What Teachers Really Want to Tell Parents,” and especially, especially read Douglas Rushkoff’s “Are Jobs Obsolete?” which has been haunting my thoughts all week, and is exactly the kind of big thinking I thought mainstream, pandering CNN.com was totally incapable of.
Maybe CNN is hard-hitting, after all. Oh, wait.
Hey did you know you can cook salmon IN YOUR SINK?
On a somber note, did you hear about the King?

marketing savvy… its awesome that you love Q.C., man! It’s one of my favorite web comics! I haven’t seen advertisements for Shit City anywhere… maybe that’s the problem? I dont find any problem with the content, I especially appreciate the fact that you have your own style. excuse the typos and such. it’s 0100am here in afghanistan.
That’s a hundred and fifty-seven likes on facebook my dear!
You could spend some on advertising, that would probably help. I first discovered this comic from a link on Oglaf.
QC SUCKS. Hard. So boring.
I can’t remember how I found this comic…but maybe solicit places that hipsters hang out? Like Pitchfork. Is that still a thing? I’m a few years behind most trends.
… Does Arn call himself Arm?
QC is the fucking How I Met Your Mother of webcomics. I only check it when I literally have nothing else to do, and it usually takes time because I have to catch up on so much. The jokes are just barely funny and the super dramatic story that requires an investment is all that keeps readers.
I realize that with art, the larger an audience you want to reach, the more you have go for the Lowest Common Denominator, which means eventually as you try to get bigger, your art becomes more generic and boring.
Shit City is fucking awesome and original. I’ll keep sharing the links on my FB but don’t ever fuckin change Colin.
