Hello, friends.  Happy Thursday!

Teabags is actually a real bar here in Pittsburgh.  I just couldn’t think of a funnier name.  T-Bagz is actually more reminiscent of a bar back in Deerfield, Mass., the Hot L (of which I could only find an ancient, pre-condemnation photograph — I assume you though, its a doozy).

In Shit City news, I’ve decided to stop doing the weekly comment prize, even though I really love getting all the comments.  The Chaz, you are the final winner, so e-mail me a picture and I’ll Arn-butt it.

Soon I’ll announce a new prize, but it’ll only be for particularly outrageous comments. So get cracking.  This week’s comments are eligible, but you can only win if you’re a member of the Shit City facebook group!  Join today!

The news:

As longtime readers can tell, I’m a big baseball fan.  My absolute favorite baseball park is the one I can walk to (the one that has pulled pork-pierogi sandwiches).  The St. Louis Dispatch seems to have noticed how kickass PNC Park is, but then again, so has nearly everybody else.

I am also a mega Doctor Who fan, going all the way back to a childhood spent looking at old Daleks and buying Tom Baker action figures at the Museum of the Moving Image in London  (for the record, Tom Baker is my favorite, followed very closely by the current man, Matt Smith).  Anyway, someone made this video of the Doctor using space guns, set to ganster rap.  Way cooler by far, though, is this old “Behind the Scenes” video showing how the 1980′s Doctor Who theme was made.  Featuring mullet!

Also on YouTube, Sasquatch Birth Journal.

Here’s a graph of Generic Names for Soft Drinks, by county.  Unfortunately, New England’s old variation “tonic” is not represented on this graph.  The best tonic is Moxie.

Finally, my favorite webcomic in the Universe, Nedroid, is now running a series of strips called “Beartato’s Science Nugget.”  Start here and go forth into the wonders of the natural world!
